Viking Crew are looking for a VTS Officer to work at the Port of Dover
We have an exciting opportunity for a Vessel Traffic Services Officer! This is a shore side position, based in the UK. Candidates will need to have the right to work in the UK.

This position operates on a shift rotation totalling 42 hours with salary paid in GBP.
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of the environment within the limits of the Port of Dover in accordance with the requirements of the Port Marine Safety Code.
- Monitoring and regulating movements of all vessels within the port and its jurisdiction and advising masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage.
- Allocating berths to vessels entering or manoeuvering within the port in accordance with schedules where pre-planned.
- Arranging in conjunction with the Duty Harbour Master the allocation of berths for unscheduled arrivals including lay-bys for repairs, de-storing etc.
Successful Candidates require:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade 4 or above
- Degree level education, or demonstrable experience in operational management and planning
- Must be able to achieve a CO103/1 certificate
- Must have previous experience within VTS or comparable industry or Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW
- Proficient with MS Office
