In a 1st engineer job role, you will also take on the part of trainer for the rest of the maintenance crew, as well as working with new trainees to help them begin their own maritime engineering careers.
As a chief marine engineer, you could work on a range of vessels from cargo ships and large vessels to passenger cruises and superyachts.
